This ride is less about sightseeing, more about flow: fewer stops, fewer crowds, more beauty, more ride time.

Your guide, longtime local and Chief Joyrider JD, has crafted a route that only a seasoned Boulderite would know — cruising on bike paths, trails, and tucked-away cut-throughs that weave between quiet neighborhoods and breathtaking open space, showing you the Boulder you won't read about in guidebooks.

It’s about surprise and delight, and discovering a Boulder that most visitors never see. Like most riders, when you're done with this route you'll find yourself saying: “If not for this, I never would have seen all of that.”

Things to know

Rider requirements

• ALL RIDERS must be able to handle a 65-pound Class 2 pedal-assist ebike with throttle. • The minimum rider age is 12 years (rider must meet minimum height requirement) • Riders ages 12-17 must be accompanied by parent or adult guardian • Our minimum rider height requirement is 4'11” • Our maximum height limit is 6'5" • Our maximum weight limit is 275 lbs. • Children: we have utility bikes with a "kid caboose" for children age 4 to 9 • Passengers: we have passenger seats with grab handles and foot pegs for riders age 10 and up (max weight 120 lbs) • Riders not arriving by scheduled tour/rental start time without at least 15 minutes prior notification will be considered no-shows and surrender their tour/rental booking without refund Please review all of our policies on https://jdsjoyrides.com/#faq

What to Bring

• Sunglasses • Sunscreen (we have sunscreen if you don't) • Water bottle (we provide bottled water if you don’t bring one) • Helmet (we will provide a helmet if you don’t bring one) • Layers (check the forecast on the day of your ride and keep in mind that you'll be traveling at speeds of 10-15 mph) NOTE: the bikes have saddlebags (made by Boulder's Green Guru https://www.greengurugear.com/) for your small bag, light jacket, water bottle, etc. 

Cancellation Policy

Reservations are confirmed when payment is received. Payment is fully refundable if we are informed of your cancellation more than 24 hours in advance of your booking start time.  If reservations are canceled within 24 hours of and by 6pm MT the night before the scheduled start time of your ride or rental, we will issue a 50% refund and convert the other 50% of the balance to a voucher that can be applied toward a future ride or rental. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after 6pm MT the night before the scheduled ride or rental start time. No refunds will be issued for no-shows. We appreciate your understanding.

Weather Policy

Weather conditions can change rapidly in Boulder and safety is our highest priority. If the weather is inclement and not conducive to a safe and pleasant ride or rental, JD's Joyrides will cancel the ride or rental and customers can reschedule for another day or receive a full refund.  Weather cancellations are subject to the sole discretion of JD's Joyrides.

Parking / Restrooms

• We have plenty of free parking. • We DO NOT HAVE RESTROOMS. Please plan accordingly.
